Michael Laureyns

Michael Laureyns

President

Born and raised in Berkshire County, Michael Laureyns is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a long-standing family background in engineering and the HVAC industry. He began working for his father’s premier regional HVAC company at just 13 years old, gaining over a decade of hands-on experience that laid the foundation for his career.

When his father passed away in 2017, Michael carried that foundation forward, building his skills through leadership and engineering roles across the industry. He later worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Hesnor Engineering Associates, where he designed and engineered numerous HVAC systems throughout Berkshire County.

In 2025, Michael co-founded Northern Elements Heating and Cooling Inc., bringing together decades of practical experience and engineering expertise to continue his family’s legacy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University, further strengthening the technical foundation that informs his work.

At Northern Elements, he applies his deep knowledge of HVAC engineering and design, guided by a strong commitment to professionalism, quality, and integrity. 

Michael F. Pensivy III

Vice President

A Berkshire County native with deep roots in the community, Michael Pensivy is a highly accomplished HVAC professional with nearly 30 years of industry experience and a co-founder of Northern Elements Heating and Cooling Inc.

Michael specializes in comprehensive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services, with technical expertise spanning the full scope of the trade–from servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting residential systems to managing complex mechanical and specialty systems in commercial environments. He also brings extensive knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls and holds multiple trade licenses and certifications.

Prior to co-founding Northern Elements, Michael held key technical and leadership roles with Berkshire Health Systems and leading regional HVAC companies, including Frosty Mechanical Contractors. Throughout his career, he has successfully built and managed premier service teams, earning a strong reputation as a skilled troubleshooter, mentor, and trainer across the region. His leadership abilities are shaped by his military background and his community service as an Assistant Scoutmaster and volunteer firefighter.

This combination of technical mastery, leadership, and local commitment continues to guide his work at Northern Elements, where he helps set the standard for quality and service in Berkshire County.

He began his career as a maintenance specialist at a leading regional HVAC company and gained further experience at Berkshire Health Systems, steadily evolving into a seasoned technician with extensive knowledge of both residential and commercial systems.

Known for his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to exceptional customer service, Raymond consistently delivers high-quality results. As a co-founder of Northern Elements Heating and Cooling Inc., his technical expertise and professional drive play a central role in the company’s commitment to excellence.

Chad LaBonte

Maintenance Technician

Chad LaBonte brings several years of experience working in and around the HVAC trade. He is disciplined and reliable–skills developed during his military service. His background includes HVAC studies at Springfield Technical Community College, along with trade certifications that provide a strong technical foundation.

Chad’s professional experience includes positions with a leading regional HVAC company, Berkshire Health Systems, and General Dynamics. Working alongside seasoned service technicians, he plays a critical role at Northern Elements Heating and Cooling Inc., where he continues to grow and expand his knowledge within the HVAC industry.
