HVAC Apprentice Technician

The HVAC Apprentice Technician works alongside experienced technicians to assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and commercial heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. This position provides hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to develop the technical skills needed for a successful career in the HVAC industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist senior technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial HVAC/R systems.
Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections.
Safely operate tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow company policies and industry safety standards.
Provide professional, courteous service to customers.
Continuously build technical knowledge through hands-on training and mentorship.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

Oil Burner License
Universal Refrigeration Recovery Certification

Qualifications:

Basic understanding of HVAC/R systems and components, including:
- Refrigeration systems
- Residential controls
- Gas and oil heating systems
- Air conditioning and heat pump systems
Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow safety protocols.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
